Living in Onex
A rural village until the 1950s, Onex was transformed in the 1960s by the Cité nouvelle, one of Geneva's first suburban housing estates. Housing is therefore mostly 1960s–70s rental buildings.
The municipality stretches down to the Rhône, with direct access to large green spaces.
