Living in Carouge

Just south of the city across the Arve, Carouge (about 22,700 residents at the end of 2024) was built in the 18th century by the King of Sardinia. The Old Carouge, with its low houses, squares and courtyards, feels like a small town a stone's throw from the centre.

Beyond the historic core, the municipality hosts part of the new PAV districts.
